Got out this morning early and glad I did. Had 8 total Smallmouth and caught a 4.45 on the first cast. Catching a fish on the first cast is usually unlucky for me but just a few minutes later had a 3.7. All but two were keepers/over 18" and in the three pound range with one 3.98. Fun morning but the wind got up so I pulled out

Good going Ivey with the Smallmouth. Have you been out for Crappies lately? I’ve heard they’re starting to hit on Percy Priest. Keep going with the tight lines.

I haven't been since November, I caught over 100 for the freezer in several trips and went back to chasing Smallmouth. They were a little slow and smaller here this year which usually means they will be big next year so I'm looking forward to next September. The Crappie here hit pretty much all winter and normally fairly easy to locate, blow down trees on a 45* banks or suspended under docks. I went over a sunken tree yesterday in about 25 ft of water and it was loaded with Crappie so I marked it on the Garmin just for my next Crappie trip.
