The lake is up, I saw a post where someone was saying looking for bait balls (birds) in coves and casting spoons and Kastmasters was hitting fish, this is coming into the time of year that that can get red hot...it is cold though.

Hey man, haven't gotten out there this year yet.
Hopefully I can put a trip together one of these days when all the launches reopen.

I did post a report last month about two buddies who fished the lake at that time. They were anticipating that the lake had turned over and were hoping to do some top line trolling. All the fish that they were marking were in the 60ft depth range. No top water action. They trolled using their downriggers in that depth range adjacent to Skiers cove area of the lake. Not a single hit. They were marking a lot of bait balls so they tried a different approach. They switched over to drifting mouse tails with scented juice and drifted over the marked bait balls. Result: they were heading home in less that two hours with a six fish limit, 4 nice rainbows and two salmon. When one technique isn’t working try another. You got nothing to lose! It’s amazing what quality electronics can do to enhance our fishing experience!
