I've read quite a bit about this area but never have fished it. This spring planning on changing that. I'll be
fishing mainly for crappie, catfish, and drum. My question is when does the fishing activity for these species start getting a lot of action in this spillway area? I thought maybe the local fishermen might give me a little info.

You have about a month (April) or less till it gets good fishing,depending on the weather,if you fish the outlet just watch the local guys and ask they will help you out! I fish the rocky ford area most of the time!

Really appreciate the information. I live 8 miles east of Topeka and didn't want to waste 120 miles or more round trip and get there too early. Thanks again
