Hey I’m new here, and I’m wondering if anyone has any info on any lakes here in western Washington that are having good luck with catching Kokanee.

Merwin and Yale are usually pretty productive starting in March…

Merwin should be good, me and 2 buddies caught 19 in late January.
Since you’re close to American lake, try it out. You can find success there. Good luck.
American lake in Pierce county has some nice ones
I'm new to Bellingham area and wonder if anyone fishes Lake Samish this time of year for kokanee? Previously had fished Lake Chelan and not familiar with Lake Samish or Lake Whatcom. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks

Welcome Randy! You should probably start another post with the lakes you’re interested in as part of the title. You’ll get way more attention thus more answers for your question. Sorry I can’t help from Ohio.
Tight lines

Don't believe a word Jeep told you. If the picture were taken the other way, you would see the military 50 cal machine gun rifle range and be ducking 50 cal pullets passing by your head. The Navy also uses the lake as a bombing target range, dropping live bombs on the lake all day. The reverse photo would also show the 732 boats fishing right behind him. Do not let the calm water confuse you. He took the photo in the eye of a hurricane. If I were you, I would stay as far from Samish as I could get.
Have fun, great lake, and usually fishable when the wind is blowing every where else. Have a good on Jeep.
