When I was a kid my Dad would give me a quarter to get him a gallon of gas, and I would bring him back the change!!!
My friend the witch doctor told me I was dated too.

did you have one of those "party" lines? we used to have to walk up to Minnie's place to hang up here phone cause she'd never put it back on the hook. LOL
Those were golden days for sure...and I am very happy to have lived during that era. Never thought of anything as an inconvenience...despite how primitive some of those may seem...like with phones!

I'm not that old but what's electricity and a phone or even neighbors within reasonable walking distance. To get to a paved road we had to go to town 10 miles away.
However, we had all those conveniences in school except TV. That came later in town when they put up a signal reflector.

Just think how we would have been more informed if we had the History channel, SCI or the AHC channel.
Encyclopedias and the Library, yea the good old days. Thanks for the memories Wulffy.
I read something where people in the ‘50s looked back to the ‘20s as the best times. While many today look back at the ‘50s as the good old days. For me it’s the ‘80s but I suppose it will keep going….
