Website insists on changing California specific locations to "General"

Does anyone know why the website (maybe an actual person) keeps changing a posting clearly located in Northern California to "Main". The images that I put up was changed to "Main". Putah creek is closer to San Francisco (which is, for better or worse, in California last time I checked) than most of the other postings I see in the local area list of topics. The times it has happened I've contacted "Admin" but generally no response. It dissuades me from posting anything on the site. Curious...

It doesn't matter WHERE the topic is. Anything fishing related goes in MAIN. The location specific category is for questions about a specific lake, river etc such as a fishing report for crater lake.

Well, I find the opposite happens. Every time I post something general about fishing they put it into Connecticut, even though the topic HAS NOTHING to do with Connecticut and I put the topic into main. For example I put the muskie charts in Main and they moved it to CT even though there are no real musky fisheries in CT.

My last post about the expensive fishing reel on eBay was also moved to CT. It seems the moderators (or whoever moves posts around) has no real knowledge of fishing, fish and fisheries.

It really irritates me!

You may be correct. One thing for sure, mist of the people on this site know what they're doing.

I believe you are right.

But that is hardly relevant for a large number of the posts. The location of the poster is meaningless in most posts unless they are speaking about a specific body of water. If the poster asks a question about lake of the woods, the specific location should be Minnesota or Ontario, not, as in my case CT.

I believe that the only reason they came up with the posters location is so people can find posts that are in their area, easily, without having to search through 49 other states information. The majority of the posts concern the state where the poster lives.
