I foul hooked this guy yesterday. He was hooked through his pectoral fin and put up one hell of a fight. Why is it when they actually hit a lure and get hooked in the mouth they just lay on their sides and slide right in.

I've not heard of tilapia being caught in the wild "stateside" in the USA...pretty cool!

They're a pretty fish I've never caught one. People say they're a trash fish. depends on where you catch them from what they will taste like 👍

Pretty cool looking fish, the only I’ve ever seen ( with the exception of fillets) in the grocery store were in the hippo exhibit at an aquarium in NJ. Seems they like to feed on their excrement.

🤣🤣🤣 that's why people don't like eating them. if they're farm raised for food that's one thing but if they're useful in another way that's another thing 🤪

Hey Whitey, i purchased some farm raised Tilapia from the grocery store a few months back and with tarter sauce as the topping they were rather good. A little to thin for my liking, but prepared correctly it was pretty good with the sides.

Of course i got the bashing from a member for eating what some call a trash fish, but heck the same one that did the bashing brags about eating crabs. Crab eater myself can't get much more of a trash eater than crabs. So i guess i know my trash
