Going try Lake Havasu tomorrow and trying to find live shot seems to be the trick. Will post pictures and results tomorrow after I return home.

I took my kayak over to Site 6 on the island and fished for 4 hours yesterday, never a hit trolling a flat bill crank bait. Nice day but smoky with a fire north of the lake. Stopped on my way back to Palm Springs and cast awhile on the Colorado and another stop on my small pond on the CA side. Caught a small largemouth and helped cheer me up for my drive home.
Always think someone bombed LA with sunsets like this.
We went Friday and never got a bit..water got kinda rough and the smoke got bad but still avoid day on lake Havasu 🙃 glad you caught one!
Never found the shad and never got bit....but still a good day on the water

Good morning Paul, not sure if you're talking about a Shad boil but I can tell you with hundreds of hours on Havasu, I've only seen five or six Shad boils. And they move quick and don't last too long.
I grew up in the Midwest and remember as a youngster always being able to see minnows, small bluegills, small panfish zipping around in shallow water. Both Lake Mohave and Havasu I never see small fish in clear shallow water, it's kind of strange you would think you would see Shad running around, but I just don't as I'm out in my kayak.

Fishing was good today
Wow Lance, that's a nice one. Congrats and thanks for the pic.
What did you catch it on?
Yes I grew up in Central Ca Modesto, with family and San Jose as a kid...San Joaquin Delta and always seen Shad boils but never on these two lakes. My work mate said they snaged shad at site 6 on lake Havasu with a trouble hook and said a man close by was throwing a 4' casting net and caught mice bass on shad. We will try the lake when things warm a little.. tight lines to you and I will stay tooled in.
Nice!!! On shad go figure....
