Sitting in cold NJ, can’t think of anywhere I’d rather be. Best luck!
Well guys and gals, I did not make my fishing date with Mark Rose of Golden gate fishing charters. We were supposed to stay with a friend and his girl friend who own a condo in Naples Florida. My wife Laura and I drove down from Atlanta Michigan to our youngest daughters house in Carleton Michigan. Next morning we got up and drove to Olive Branch Mississippi, which is about 20 miles south of Memphis Tennessee. Laura’s brother lives there, and we spent a couple days with him, and since Laura has never been to Graceland, we spent a few hours there the next morning.
After that he took us to the Rendevous BBQ joint had a great lunch. Spent the rest of the day on Beale street, home of the blues, and had a few adult beverages along the way.
Next day we got up and drove to Valdosta Georgia, with a stop in Tupelo to see Elvis’
birthplace.
Next morning, on down to Naples Fla., on the way there , Laura started feeling sick, and by the time we got there, she wanted to go to Urgent care. So we do, and diagnoses was Covid.
So, not wanting to expose our friends, we callled them to let them know… and we didn’t really know what we were going to do.
A few minutes later they called back and my friends sister has a condo in Ft. Meyers, and she graciously offered it to us as a spot to quarantine. So we accepted, and just an amazing spot. Laura was very ill the 1st couple days, and all this time I feel normal.
So the day before the fishing trip, our daughters who are both RN’s said I should get some Covid tests, so I do and the 1st test was negative, and I still feel normal.
The next day is my fishing trip, so I test before I left, and it is positive, and I am still feeling normal. But I want to let the guide know what’s up and he says definitely not!
So, I obviously did not go.
Mark, the guide has been great, and he said that maybe Sunday we can get out, as he has an opening. I will keep testing, and will see what happens. Neither one of us had had Covid up until now. I still feel normal, but the whole situation is making me sick!
Couple pics, but not anything I caught!
His client caught 30 bass, all between 4-6 lbs the day before I was supposed to go. Caught on flukes, Senkos and a few on top water☹️

So sorry to hear about your altered plans Outcast. I hope your wife is feeling better, and recovers quickly. Also hope that you're clear by the weekend. Good Luck and Tight Lines.

Thanks Fred.. I still have no symptoms, and wife is much better. So we shalll see if I can reschedule
Sorry to hear the wrench getting thrown into your well laid plans...especially the fishing part...which you so patiently waited for. Hope you guys are well on the mend...and that you yourself don't even end up with symptoms at all!
