Looks like the came out of Bud & Mary's Marina.
Most likely fishing around Turkey Reef.
That is one handsome fish.

African Pompanos are reef and open ocean waters, the type of Pompano you will catch in the surf are different and not reef dweller's like the African Pompano. Yes this is the right time of year to catch them. Send pictures of your catch:-)

You can catch them off piers, surf, inlets from Sebastian to Miami use sand fleas and or fish bite strips or Pompano jigs all work well the closer to shore the better as the Pompano love sand fleas.)

Little Cold yet up by Jax 60 this morning I like going when its 65-68 stays that temp for awhile in March thru May .

Yesterday, we caught 1 small pompano, six croakers and 2 snappers in one hour off of Rocky Point in Stuart and then everything quit just as fast as it started.

Capt. Awesome the snook and reds are biting really well at Stuart inlet, white baits and or live hand select shrimp under cork. If your still in the area.
