Now we have a place in the mountains of Fannin County with opportunity to do some serious fishing. If there are a few others in the Blue Ridge area I would like to hear from you....will be back up there in March and hope to do a little fly fishing for trout.....wife happy with catching a few catfish...her favorite. Pictures when we are successful....

That will be nice when it gets a little warmer, ya can at least catch a breeze at a higher elevation!

Check with Unicoi Outfitters in Helen GA. They are the top source of guides gear and advise om N GA trout fishing. Jimmy is the owner, and a great guy. I think they have a store on Blueridge as well.

Will check that out.....Helen is a busy tourist trap town....hope they are in Blue Ridge....also getting their share of tourists....

The DH stream on Unicoi state park, and the Smith Creek in Smithgall Woods are worth the trip to Helen. You have to call Smithgall and book a reservation to fish there

Unicoi is no longer in Blue Ridge but Cohutta Fishing Company (is a fly shop) is in the same location Unicoi was and they are quite helpful too.

Yep....have been there....small shop on the corner.....not cheap....but nice flies.....good selection designed for local fishing.
