I was over at Saratoga Lake last friday and the ice was about 2.6 inch thick but this weekend looks promising.

I have driven from Oswego area to Eel Bay @ Wellesley Island for good ice and did good on perch both times but have to filter through some smaller ones.

Before this Arctic cold snap there was still open water in sections of Schroon Lake. There were still quite a few people out there on what ever ice was out there. I won't go on a lake with any amount of open water. After this cold snap is over we expect above freezing temps for a least 2 weeks so any gains in ice thickness this weekend will most likely be lost.

Was fishing Great Sacandaga Lake on the 10th and 11th. 9 inches of ice. Caught a mud puppy, that was it. But great time anyway

I was on Sacandaga on the 7th. A good 10 inches at the Broadalbin launch. I ve caught decent pike there in the past. Nothing this time.
