Wife and I had a golden retriever mix named Buddy. We would leave our deck door cracked at night so Buddy could go out and do his business. I had fallen asleep on the couch, wife had gone to bed. About 3:30 in the morning we were awakened by Buddy tearing through the house. Seconds later my eyes were burning and I was fully awake. Buddy had been sprayed by a skunk on the deck and ran inside to get away. There was no going back to sleep even though next day was a work day. I work from home and had to do our best to, as my father would have said, defunkerize the house. Not a good experience.
