Those are called "corkies". Here in PNW, this a "go to " for rigs to drift-fish for salmon and steelhead. Hard and, more recently, soft beads have kinda replaced corkies, though many folks still swear by them. Available in dozens of colors & usually 2 or 3 sizes, you have the "watermelon" pattern. A size #4 or #6 hook, w/ or w/o an egg loop, then a bobber stop, a small "bumper" bead, a couple or three corkies (for steelhead) or one or two w/ a "spin'n'glo"( winged version of these..sorta) for salmon. I have caught exactly 3 salmon and no steelhead w/ that rig in 35yrs, while some of my friends won't fish another way (with greater success than I, by far!).
I actually use 'em as a "worm floater" (rather than a blower to inflate the worm) when trout fishing on the bottom (worm on hook, corkies, 18-36" up a baby split shot, then a 1/4oz egg sinker. Floats the worm off the bottom, much like Powerbait fishin'.(might be good for other species, as well)
I also put one on above my drift bobber while bobber-doggin', helps my old eyes spot whether my bobber is acting correctly.
Or...... you can make "marvelous" necklaces and bracelets by stringing combos of colors together, an activity my daughter and her friends engaged in 30 yrs ago ! (Would've been cheaper to take 'em to the craft store, lol !)

They make good floats and strike indicators and are easy to move on line. Just put one where you want it and jam the hole with a toothpick and break it off or cut it with a little sticking out and you can move it when you want.
