Red Necks with Paychecks!

Well, I know that most of you on Fishing Forum have no idea were Saint Jo, Texas is located, nor care! However, there are a couple of places/events that might get some of your attention.
It may have escaped your attention, but there have been super national events, or contests help in this part of the woods, or whatever you might call this in your area. There are two specific events that I wish to high light.
The first one is Red Necks with Paychecks! This will be held March 16-19, 2023 in Saint Jo, Texas. The biggest, baddest trucks will be competing in a deep-pit mud crawl over these three days. No one under 18 in allowed. Just an admittance ticket runs from $ 75 to $95, and there is unlimited camping area for those with campers or tents. This is an adult event and there will be a lot of beer consumed. The trucks will be competing in serious mud crawling and there have been fatal accidents.
During the first year of this event, the editor of the Saint Jo Tribune and his wife decided to drive out to the event and take some pictures for their newspaper. Well, the line of cars was at least a mile before even reaching the gate/entrance, they simply turned around and went home!
For more information Google Red Necks with Paychecks. Remember you are attending at your own risk!

The Red River Motorcycle Trails
15393 North FM 373, Saint Jo, Texas 78265
Mailing Address: Red River Motorcycle Trails, P.O. Box 400, Saint Jo, Tx 76252

Please be warned, neither of these is for beginners or neophytes. I wish to forewarn everyone that there have been fatal accidents at both over their history. I have posted this only for information purposes only.
Saint Jo is in the hinterland, or ‘sticks’ of Texas, but you will not forget the place if you ever happen to visit. If you do visit, the Saint Jo Library is on the square, you might visit there. If you do, you will find my footprint. I have donated more than 50 banker boxes of books, all my diplomas, U.S. Air Force Commission and discharge, and other awards and documents. The Librarian has promised me a ‘wing’ for all my stuff. Just Sayin…RJS

Thanks for bringing notice of these events to my attention. Yes, I know where Saint Jo is located; passed through a couple times traveling Hwy 82. No, I probably won't be interested in the events you mentioned, but I may drive up there some day to visit your 'wing' in the library. Glad they are preserving the legacy of a favorite son!

Sorry, but don't think I'll ever be classified as high as a favorite son! There was another much more highly rated. Harley Sewell became All American when playing for Texas, and went on for a career with the Detroit Lions. They named the football field after Harley.

Now my wing isn't a fact, just a promise. I have no idea whether it will eventually be a fact.

The reason I am so partial to libraries is that when my sister and I were just kids, we had a branch of the Cooke County Library in our house at Bulcher. If we had not had that, I doubt either would have made it in college. As a part of having the branch of the library, we also were blessed with 10 or 13 popular magazines! Just Sayin...RJS

I've been there on my way to Nocona Texas to buy boots and metal detecting around the school house's and found my first Walking Liberty dollar near the sidewalk, I know all about rednecks and monster trucks, rodeos and wild young men who do crazy things liquored up! I once watched a few drunk guy's drive their monster truck up Kemp street in Wichita Falls while I was stopped to cross University street, he drove into the Color Time rental center, then crushed every car parked in the lot. He was staring at me and my wife grinning like I'm next... I grabbed my hunting rifle off the rack of the back window and he left us alone. I'm glad he backed off or I would have taken him out to save my wife and my own life. I want no part of drunken rednecks or being one.. I'm a redneck because I worked out in the Sun and fishing will do it too!
