Thanks Andy. We're here to help people, but not to serve them. A little effort on their part goes a long way.
You have a good week as well. You'll be on the water long before me buddy, so good luck on the 10 pounder! Have a safe week my friend.

That's my goal as well. Carrying a scale in the boat. Want to hit 10 pounds or better, on the scale...Bass aren't playing nice tho..lol

When I was a kid my grandparents always used lard for cooking. Alot of pork sausage n pan fried chicken. Forget about drinking outa the garden hose. Seemed like fun then 🤣. They was using some good chemicals back then. Ticks wasn't a big problem then either. It's said our days are numbered. I believe we can make those more painful than necessary but we won't die before our time. Just my opinion 👍

Really, ticks? We get the deer ticks that you get lime disease from up here in the mountains, as soon as you have seen half a dozen friends missing work because they are sick for weeks and even months you'll be getting a different attitude about being in brush where these ticks hang out. The funny thing is people will be sick for weeks before anyone thinks to check for lime disease. Those who are smart enough to see a tick, and the tell tale little ring around the bite can start taking antibiotics that will prevent lime disease, if it's caught early it's not as dangerous.

My grandparents did a lot of things we know better than now, both died of cancer too, neither of lung cancer... but to their credit they both stopped smoking in their 50's because the evidence clearly linked smoking to respiratory problems

Lime disease is a serious issue. I have a friend who's wife got it and she was out of commission for almost a year. I stop taking my dogs to the foothills when it gets warm and becomes tick season. They hang out on knee high brush and transfer to a dog or person when you walk through it. Definitely avoidable and like you said, easy to spot early and get the proper help.

[quote=Designerbuilder1]You guys, none of my business but Tyvek is not a criminal or bad person. He’s probably a nice guy who overlooked the posts that said which Lake it is. The guy’s I’ve met from this site are very nice. They would never jump on the bandwagon to put someone down. I think a bit of light hearted responses is a better vibe. Again, to each their own.[/quo

Not putting your friend down and not at all saying he is a criminal , just saying read the posts many times said what lake I am fishing in. But being a bank fishermen will never tell the exact spot that I am fishing and really think it is rude the way some guys almost demand to know where you are fishing. I am not a bad person either, well sort of .

He's not a friend, just reading the post's. I agree about not giving all of the info out. When I develop patterns that catch a lot of fish, I will give certain information out but not all as I enjoy being the top dog. LOL

632..... Not all of us. I've seen folks here give out detailed & specific info to others here, including locations, quite often. Do it myself from time to time. Not being critical, it's an individual's choice.

woodguru . . I live 20 miles from Lyme CT., and have fished there & in the surrounding areas for about 25 years. Trust me when I tell ya that around here, most folks tape up their cuffs and take other precautions regularly. We all know somebody who has contacted Lyme Disease and a severe case is no stroll in the park.
Long term effects for many are present for the rest of their lives. I only had it once, and had the beginnings of the classic bullseye pattern quite clearly. GF and I checked each other for ticks following a picnic, and I had a bite beneath my shoulderblade, that I never would have seen myself. Spoiled what was a post outdoor bit of fun that we usually enjoyed very much. She was clear.
I followed the regimen for early treatment and never had any symptoms. Lucky 🍀 guy.
Repellents are not very effective as far as I know, despite Health Dept. advisories and CDC recommendations, so just be careful, and always check for the signs after outdoor activities. Please !

You are right its a individual choice and I will keep my best spots to myself ( will give the lake) and nothing wrong with that. Couple times told a person where I fish and next time I went there not only was he there but wife, 5 kids 14 cousins, a grandmother and two X wife's never again.
