Washington Fishing

I have fished American Lake 3 times over the past 4 years and have had nary a nibble. Weather cooperated and some friends talked me into going (4 of us total) with the specific goal of de skunking my boat. Cloudy and calm. We trolled for a couple hours before I caught a nice little keeper. On a dropper 30' deep with Brad's Kokanee Killer scented with Bloody Tuna. There, skunk done! 10 minutes later a holdover rainbow hit my worm tipped hoochie behind a chrome green dodger long lining with no weight. This one was a hog and put up a good battle on my light gear. Another great day on the water and fish to boot. The cutting board it 15" long. We be grillin tonight!

Nice holdover. I've been out 3 times since the beginning of the year and I've come up with zip. But it won't deter me. Even if I don't catch anything, it's stress relief just to be out fishing

Do the rainbow trout from American lake taste good? I have caught some small ones while trolling for Kokanee but never kept and ate any.
