Fishing walleye in early sept. In Canada mostly in shallow water 6-10 ft.

We usually fish 6 to 10 feet trolling 1/8 ounce jig heads with a minnow or crawler, so times lately the bite is almost non-existent. Any suggestions?

Thanks Jon

Welcome to the Forum, guggiej. We fish walleye in middle of June in Canada and if the water temp. is less than 60 we will fish in 6' - 10' of water. In fact, my PB walleye of 31" came out of 4' of water during that time of year. If the water temp. is over 60 they will be in deeper water. I would imagine that in early Sept. the water is well into the 60's or even the low 70's. It could be that you will have to try a little deeper water.

Make for buy some crawler spinner harnesses.
When using minnows, snip off the back hook. Back troll.

Summer and late summer. Under water humps. The post that was telling you about water temps was right on. Been going to same lake in Canada since 1988. Alto some of you won't believe this but 5 guys this July in 5 days caught 1743 Walleye with 61 over 20 inches. This was all on under water humps with our best depths at 14' to 18'. We use 1/4 oz jigs tipped with a little color and a leech. Wind drift or if wind to strong back troll. The 2 previous years we had over 1500 each year.
