Spring Chinook

I’ve not fished for spring chinook before.
I usually hit the fall run on the Cowlitz, Chehalis, Satsop, and Humptulips.

When and where to the “springers” run?

I think my spots on the Cowlitz will work, as the season is Jan 01 - Jul 31, can keep 2 adults.

Does one fish for spring chinook the same as fall chinook?

Thanks.

CBW,
I am interested in this too, as I just got back into fishing in July. I am not sure about bank fishing and not really too positive about fishing from a boat like I have been doing. I am trying to learn as much as possible.

I know some good bank spots on the Cowlitz, Chehalis, and Satsop.

Got a Buddy with a sled that knows a lot of the spots accessible by boat on the rivers.

I’ve a good Puget Sound salmon hunter, that can troll the Duwamish too.

Unsure if they’ll even be a season, so I’ll keep looking at the Emergency arts.

Per my Ifish connection, people are predicting a good population of springers but fear a short season.

That’s what I’ve heard too. Supposed to be a great run, but potentially the inverse of a season, if any season at all.

Per the current regulations, the rivers state they’re open until 31 July, but I’ve heard the spring chinook season is mostly controlled via Emergency Regulation, so I guess I’ll keep my FishWA app up to date.
