I just met Raymond while waiting for a pizza at Domino’s. He’s an older fellow and quite unsteady. He sat down next to me and told me he is going in for back surgery tomorrow. They are replacing 5 vertebrae in his spine. Raymond was in the Navy for 18 years. He served during the Korean War. He related an incident in which he narrowly escaped capture during which he laid in the ice and snow for a fairly long time which has resulted in his spine being very brittle. Anyway chances are I will never see him again but for those of you who do, please offer a prayer for a successful surgery and Gods blessings upon him.

You were there to do him a great favor. He was upset by the surgery and needed to talk and have someone listen.
You were honored. Not many vets open up to a stranger. Maybe he had no one else.
God bless.

The story he told would curl the hair of most folks. I am always honored when I can be of some small service to a vet.

That's a great thing you did today Mike. SO many people don't have anyone to talk to and a lot of the others don't wanna make time to listen to them. You were there and were able to help him just by listening then askin for prayer for him.
You're quiet the man Wuffy. Thanks for all you do for us all.
We will definitely pray for Raymond and you. Steve.

Prayers for Raymond and God bless him and God bless you for being there for him when he obviously needed someone.
I saw a guy with a Vietnam veterans hat on in the parking lot at Academy last week and thanked him for his service, he was grateful for it and we ended up talking for about 20 minutes before going into the store. He just seemed like he wanted to talk and I was not in a hurry

Ain't that the truth.
Young punks don't know what those old people did when they were younger. If they did, they would never mess with them.
As I use to tell my girls. I don't know how to FIGHT real well, BUT I know how to kill someone.
