I bought a new Pflueger President at the BAss Pro black friday sale in MObile Alabama. First time out I lost the handle in the water (must have worked loose riding in the Kayak for 1500 miles from Kansas to south Florida).

Does anyone know where I can get parts for a reel this new?

I would contact Pfluger directly, their customer service has proven to be exceptional. You’ll probably be able to receive a new handle free of charge.

yes I have a couple of those reels and first time my wife used one off came the handle and it was lost in the lake. very poor design and cheaply made reel. I'd say save your money and just buy a different reel. when I looked you can Bing handle for Pfluger president reel and find some for sale but they will cost 1/2 the price of the reel. but you will be better off getting a new reel that is not a Pfluger

I have several of those reels and have never had an issue with one. Well worth checking with customer service. They have always been fair when I need parts

China. No, really, most of the new Pfleuger products are made in China by 12 year olds and they donot have much customer support.

Sorry DC but I’ve got to disagree, I’ve had quite a few Pfluger Presidents and they’ve held up extremely well and I do a lot of fishing. Clean and lubricate them yearly and have not been disappointed. I also own some “higher end” reels and so have something to compare with them, sorry your experience has been different.

Jim not trying to start n argument with you but check this out. Many made in America products are only assembled here with foreign made parts. These companies don't really announce these facts. They backdoor us

My grandson lost a handle for one of mine a couple of years ago I tried to contact Pfluger and could never get them to respond. I found one on line from a secondary source Unfortunately I can't remember where. I found them by Google Good luck

of course you are right very little is made in America these days and that is a discussion we could have in the attic sometime. my point was this model real costs around $50 at Walmart the design for the handle where it comes off easily if you turn the handle the wrong way by accident or on purpose to extend a drift or just drop your line deeper is a poor design. it is a basic entry reel. I'm sure Pfluger make better reels that cost a little more that are better but this model in my exsperence with owning a couple is not one of them. instead of spending $15-20 on a replacement handle I cut my loss and moved up to a $60-70 dollar Shimano reel which was a lot better reel for the money and the handle can be turned either way without it comeing off
