Attaching a short clip. The wire leader broke as I was pulling it in. The shark fought for around 30 minutes.

Very cool KG. At least you got her close enough to the boat to get a good look, and say hi. Thanks for the video.

Got him to the boat looks like a catch to me. You just released it sooner and saved loosing a hand.

That would be my story and stick to it.

That looked like best case scenario to me! Confirmed catch and released without incident. Don’t think you were pulling that monster over the rail!!

Tight lines

Definitely landed.
Had you wanted to gaff it , it could have happened. Glad you didn't.
Kinda looks like a Thrasher shark. It has a longer tail, but I don't really know. Was it?
Congrats to you anyway. Thanks for the video. Cool.

For a shark that big, you did the best kind of 'Catch and release'!

Oooweee! Very nice video to document what I would also consider as a "caught" shark! That would make a great memory in my book!

Was that a Thresher?
Looked like a pretty long upper tail.

Not sure what kind. I first thought it was a nurse shark, but now I'm not sure.
