Hello,
We are new to lake Charles and would love to catch some flounder, red snappers, monster cats, or even big bass. I know they are all very different fishing. Can anyone point us toward which water and what’s getting bites?

Well, I’m no expert, maybe others will advise, but I love to fish. From what I’ve heard about bass fishing, find and get to know people with small ponds, otherwise you can go to Laccasine Reserve, Bundicks Lake or Toledo Bend!
For big Catfish All the freshwater rivers are great. For Trout, redfish, drum, and gar fish, the Calcasieu Lake, Big Lake, Mermentau River , Grand Cheneir, and Cameron are the places to go.
Don’t forget to talk to the local people and fish shops like Lake Charles Tackle,
Bowie Outfitters, and Academy . All these places know where to fish and they know what baits to use to catch whatever fish you’re going after.
Good Luck!

Welcome to the stage. A lot of truth from Woody. You can also check with Fish and Game and find out a bit more. Bundicks Lake is not that good since the Hurricane killed off a lot of fish, but the rest seem good. You can also try the 'jetty's at the end of Sabine. Good luck.
