public education sadly needs to be scraped and built back from the ground up. the only way we will have a good and healthy public education is to get it out of the hands of the government. the o ly way that will happen is if the per student tax dollars follow the child to the school of the parents choice . be it Carter school, religious based school, or neighborhood schools. competition will weed out the schools that the general public do not support. yes there may be a few fringe schools but the majority of the schools will be those that are educating kids and preparing them for a successful future

The money HAS to follow the child, regardless of charter, private, informal group, home school, etc.

of course it will never happen because the teacher union will never allow it, and why you ask because they say it will take money away from the public schools, and why is that? because they know they are doing a lousy job of educating our kids and they know if given the choice parents will flee the public schools for other choices and they will loose control. After all the teacher union main interest is not protecting students or doing what is best for the students but protection the union members and doing what is best for them simple as that.
