Hey All! I was wondering if anyone has been catching any Crappie from the North end of Lake Washington or any other lakes in the northern part of Puget Sound Area. I've been wanting to focus a little more on the Crappie and I need some direction or advise, as I've only caught one in my life and I'm pretty sure that was just a fluke. Thanks in advance for any kind of help. Tight lines y'all!!

I am right with you from Seattle North to Canada. I have caught a lot of crappie, but not in this part of the woods. Those that I have caught here are about hand size. There is some good crappie fishing on the other side of the Mountains in some of the smaller lakes. When panfishing in this are, I now target yellow perch. Thanks for the post. I am looking forward to any responses more promising than my own.

Although I don't target crappie I have caught them while trolling for trout in lakes in Snohomish area,Panther lake in particular, Use Fish Washington App,I'm sure you'll find alot of lakes in Snohomish and Skagit county that have crappie as well as yellow perch.

I'm new to this area but now have a slip on the south end of Lake Washington. I plan on doing a lot of crappie fishing on Lake Washington, as crappie are my favorite fish to chase. I have been chasing them for over 50 years, in California, Lousiana and Texas. Now I am going to chase them here in Washington. :)

From the underwater videos I have watched Lake Washington has nice schools of crappie. But I hope to find them on the South end of the lake to save me from having to take the boat ride to the North end of the lake. This is a big lake. :)

Crappie like structure if it is available. So I plan on initially concentrating of the sunken trees and other structure in the south end of the lake. I bought two maps of Lake Washington to give me a starting point for the search.

So I would suggest buying a good map of Lake Washington or use Google Earth to locate underwater structure on the North end of the lake.

If you wish to send me a PM I would be happy to discuss crappie fishing with you. I recommend crappie.com as a good forum that specializes in crappie fishing.

I will post my results here as soon as the weather allows me to go out on the lake. I might even give gps coordinates to those who ask in a private message once I start catching them here. :)

I thought a fluke was a flatfish 😁🤔

A fluke is a flatfish, as far as I know. But I've not been fortunate enough to catch one. Thanks for all of the replies, fellas. I will continue my hunt, a little wiser from what you've shared. Tight lines!!

Hello, Hoot. I was making a little play on words when I made the remark about your accidental crappie catch. I guess I could have made the joke more obvious by mentioning a whale’s tail or an electrical meter also. 😊

All of my family still lives in the Puget Sound area. Perhaps we can meet next time I come out. Good luck fishing. I know there are (or at least, were. That was over 50 years ago when I fished it with my dad and grandpa) crappie in Alder Lake, a reservoir on the Nisqually River past Eatonville.

Hey Gmchief, no harm, no foul. I understood your play of words. Your humor wasn't wasted on me. I would love to meet up with you when you make it back to the Puget Sound Area. Most of my family also lives around here. My son lives in Darrington, up in the foothills of the Cascades and caught his first fish in an old mill pond that is for juveniles only and my oldest grandson caught his first fish, this last spring, from the same pond. I'm hoping this coming spring, that my youngest grandson will catch his from the same pond. (I fished the same pond when I was young also, though my first fish was caught on a lake on the Jim Creek Naval Station). Pardon me, I'm reminiscing. Anyways, speaking of Fluke, I live not far from a large Fluke facility, in Everett. Hit me up when you get back this way and maybe we can fish somewhere together. I've never fished anywhere around Eatonville, but I'm game to fish anywhere. It's good to know you. Take care and tight lines.

That’s what I like about the Stage. The posts bring back memories of similar experiences. Keep your eyes out. I plan on making an extensive post on what the Stage means to me on New Years.
We also would fish the Skykomish under the bridge in Skykomish. Usually limited out on rainbows. Sometimes not too many fish. I think my dad must have looked up the stocking schedule. We stayed in a campground in a cabin just upstream from the town.
Same invite to you. If you ever make it to Boston give me a shout. We’ll throw the boat in the harbor and see what is hungry.

No Bapabear, I have never tried that. My buddy and I discussed going up there this last season and taking out my 12 ft aluminum boat, but the fish had started to be hit and miss at that point. So we never went, as I couldn't justify the fuel cost for not catching a sockeye. I have caught some nice size rainbows out of Baker. When I was younger. I haven't been there in quite a few years. I have a question, do you(or anyone reading this) have any idea how much it costs to get a small boat trailer inspected? I suppose I could look on the WSP website .

It was $60 several years back, so that is probably outdated. What I expect is not outdated is the long wait to get an appointment, so think ahead. Let us know what you find out.
