hope you had a great Christmas ours was really special having all our kids and grandkids over. At time it was chaotic, and times very loud but what a blessing to have our whole family together laughing and having fun. The two weeks leading up to Christmas was difficult including a 3 car accident where my daughters car was totaled and my Son-in-law ended up going to the ER and while he is ok he was diagnosed with COVID, My other daughter and and Son-In -Law on the way to their kids Christmas program got a call that their house was on fire while the house will be able to be saved they lost all they owned due to smoke damage and their Dog died in the fire. Their house will have to be completely gutted all sheet rock insulation and flooring and then sprayed and put back together. But Christmas day you would not have known anything was wrong all were happy as we celebrated the birth of Christ, all the grandkids had lots of fun running around laughing and playing it was a great day God truly is good and I am blessed with a great family. I'm no poet but I wrote this poem about today as I now sit in an empty house looking at Christmas in the rearview mirror.
It is the day after Christmas
And all through the house
No sounds of laughter
Coming from a child’s mouth
the presents all opened
the cookies all Gone
everyone left one by one
as they pulled out the drive way
the grandkids all shouted
Merry Christmas as they drove away
Grandma and Grandpa both say
We will miss you and wave
They turn to go inside
With a tear in their eye
Yes it is the day after Christmas
And all through the house
No sounds of laughter
Coming from a child’s mouth

Wow. Tablerock Poet cracks me up but you write tear jerken Poems. I am very sorry to hear about the TC ( traffic Collision ) and House Fire and more importantly a family member with four legs.
I will share something to cheer you and anyone that downloads the video. Happy New Year.
Wow DC. Sounds like your family had some tough days to get through. The important thing is that none were injured or worse. The material things can be replaced. Glad to hear you all had a good Christmas and made the best of things. Good luck in the New Year and we’ll keep you and yours in our prayers
