Got it last week. Never seen one this big around here. My wife's rod broke. Not due to fighting or the drag. Likely a rod microfracture that finally gave in. The rod was in the holder, and then just snapped as the snapper grabbed the bait. Still, she managed to pull out the fish even with the rod broken.

some game fish. some bait fish for the future. overall not a bad day out.

I love a GREAT Fishing story like that, "the rod Snapped"! And it was a "Snapper" that hit the bait. HAHA
Not only that, my one armed wife still managed to reel it in and bring it aboard.

Okay, so I embellished a little bit. She did manage to reel it in on a broken rod. No small feat by any measure.

Thanks KG! Makes an otherwise slow day worth remembering.

Love the Fishing pics.

Blue Skies Always,

BlackDog
