The promise of the Winter Solstice

A clear start to the First Day of Winter (shortest daylight hours of the year in this hemisphere). A “fingernail sliver of the Moon” a few minutes before sunrise (between the wires) the neighbor’s flag barely moving in the single digit temps and another neighbor’s reindeer decorations in the distance.
I considered a ride to the Lake Michigan shoreline for a sunrise pic, but then remembered (at 5 degrees) it is the thought that counts! 😂
Have a great day all!

1st day of Winter And it sure is going to get cold this weekend for a lot of people 😳 I can't blow up this picture very big on my phone but looks like I can see the moon on the right side of the power Pole just to the right of that 1st tree 🤔

I had to go to my phone so I could enlarge the pic but I found it. Then I could barely see it on the computer after that.
Very pretty pic OJD.
The way I look at the winter solstice is it's one day closer to summer with every passing day getting longer.

The winter solstice is one of my favorite days here in Bellingham Washington.. it marks the beginning of longer days and shorter nights.. sunset yesterday ending our shortest DAY.... YEAH.. Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year...
