Crab limit and did some “prospecting”…….
My boat co-owner and I went out to the “honey hole” again and limited on crab with 2 sets of the pots. We tried a different set direction (more east to west vs south to north) and the 1st set wasn’t very productive so reset south to north about midway of the east west set and hit them. Since we limited fairly quickly and some of the crab were just over 5 3/4” inches we decided to go prospect a different location altogether that we got some intel on.
Turns out the intel was pretty good, we set 3 pots for a 30 minute soak in one location and got 2 good keepers, moved and reset in another location and got another 7 keepers. All were over 6” so we culled out the smaller ones we already had and went in with another, closer location in our back pocket!
Crabolicous!!
Karel (pronounced Carl) and our boat in the background.
Cooler with 20, 6” and over crab.
Just chillin while the pots soak and an idea of the conditions.

Congrats on another successful trip. Looks rougher than what I would want to endure.
The open ocean has a different roll to it that makes me seasick. Whereas the same roughness or MORE doesn't seem to bother me on smaller bodies of water. I don't know how to explain it.

Thanks Steve, you’d like/ be ok at the new spot, it’s a little more sheltered and about 15 minutes closer to the marina and yes, sea sickness is a tricky one and not discriminate as to who it chooses to affect.

Thanks Fred, I’ll let Karel know that you have welcomed him. I’ve told him about The Stage and he’s has “threatened” me he will join and set the record straight on how he’s taught me everything I know! 🤪

Yeah, don't know what it is exactly that does me in. I've been in 3+ foot whitecaps and fished for hours in 2+ foot whitecaps so I know it's not exactly just about it bein rough water.
It has something to do with the side to side motion along with the up and down at the same time I think.
Whatever it is I DON"T LIKE IT !

You can beat the roll by moving to Kansas. Maybe not! I know a few that would get sick just watching the wheat wave in the wind.
40Grit, you're just nailing those Dungeness.
Great job!
