So the taxman almost ripped this little fellow in half as I was reeling him in.
This fish is under min size, so I couldn't keep it. (doesn't matter how severely injured, I guess, still can't keep it)

A Frigate will eat it in no time. If not the crabs will.

I'm surprised, "The man in the Gray Suit ", doesn't usually give up that easily. Maybe he knew it was undersized, and was waiting for you to release it.
Lost a tooth on that one, eh? That's ok, he's got plenty more.

Was gonna say….whatever shark hit KGs fish should be stripped of his shark title and shunned by the shark community.

while the taxman always gets his bite out of everything since most of the catch was still left in place I suspect it was not the taxman. So just curious did it get caught up in the prop? or did a fish or seal get it?
It's a Sailors Choice, no size limit, good bait. Throw it back attached to a hook and good, strong leader! I always have a small fish free-lined when I'm fishing offshore. Never know what's going to show up; king mackeral. wahoo, cobia, amberjack or even a "man in a grey suit." Single slash looks like a 'cuda hit it.
