Hi Charly, I'm not crazy about our new paperless regs. Particularly the upland game/ waterfowl. Can't find 22/23. How're you doing with it? I must be missing something.

I have not tried this year. Been pretty much laid up.

I am with you, not happy about the state going paperless . I always like to keep a extra book in my truck but can't do that anymore. All the places this state could save money and they decide to do away with our paper game regs.

I agree but it sure would be nice if they would make things simpler so one doesn't have to flip back and forth between the general regulations, the specific regulations, and the definition of terms and then check the web site for any changes. people who fish regularly a particular body of water in general have it figured out but someone new to fishing or the area can easily get confused especially by the different regulations and seasons on the same river

Many times a tackle shop in the area can answer you.

Your best chance of getting the correct answer is the state web site.

I got set up to receive all that kind of info from the state to my email, so the latest changes come to me. Maybe you can do that too.

The same for me Kerry. The only time the emergency rules are a problem for me is when I go out for several days in a row and I'm out of cell phone coverage.

I hope you are healing well. I download what I can for road trips. Sonoma coast is not famous for cell service. Current state and federal wildlife areas, regs is what I'm looking for. Might be under a different title now. I'll find it. Be well Charly.

Here in Cali CB, I half jokingly tell others to hire an attorney to help you understand F&G regulations.

Hi Steve, I'm making the effort to learn paperless. The wildlife areas, hunting grounds, are not updated. The MPA'S (marine protected areas) are not updated. If, when, I'll find them. Shouldn't be this much work. Should be posted at every entrance everywhere. If not posted, general rules apply. Rangers, bosses, please simplify this. CADFG please simplify this.

Dude... I love KISS. It should be the rule to follow when making rules. This is a true story... I once shot a spike buck that had a knob growing off one antler making it not a spike but a 2 x 1. I was always told if you can hang a wedding ring from it, it is a legal branch. I field dressed the deer, hung my tag and went into Portola to get my kill signed off by a warden. He asked me to explain my thought process that my deer was legal. I told my story and demonstrated by hanging my wedding ring. As I was telling my story a second warden showed up. This second warden went ballistic when the 1st warden signed my tag. He was screaming that my buck was not legal. He quoted the regulation definition of an antler branch. He turned beet red when I asked him to explain what he just said in a way that I could understand it. His reply was that I was damn lucky that he wasn't the warden I rolled up on. To this day I have no idea if my buck was in fact legal or illegal. The only thing I'm sure of is that I was damn lucky things went my way. Usually when there is doubt you better find the Vasoline real quick.

I know what you mean , I have ask different wardens the same questions and get two different answers. Guess that is why we have judges.
