40°at the ramp @9:40 am, breeze blowing around 8 mph. I decided to start on the leeward side of the point where the ramp is. Threw a Fluke, a watermelon Dinger, and a couple different Ned Rigs, with zero bites. After losing the 3rd Ned Rig in the rocky bottom, I switched to a Green Pumpkin Dinger. I had 2 Smallies follow it to the bank but they wouldn't bite. After about 30 minutes, I got a decent bite, and set the hook. It wasn't pulling like a Smallmouth but it did break the surface 2x. I couldn't get a good look until I got it to the bank. A 3lb Seeforellen Brown Trout! The biggest Trout I've caught since I was 12 yrs old. I didn't have my cooler so C.P. R. and back in the water she went. As the wind picked up I worked my way down old Rt..8 for about half a mile, with no more action. The wind was about 12-15 by noon so I called it. I never expected to catch a Trout on a 5" Dinger, but you never know.

Big Grats my Fred!! A Thanksgiving PB is very rare Nice looking fish, too bad you didn't have your cooler. Yeh, we stumbled upon a 4.5 Rainbow earlier this year on a 5" senko and that was a great surprise.
Have a great holiday my friend.

Thanks Garey. I've accidentally caught them on a Fluke, and caught a Kokanee on a Chatterbait before, but that was a first on a Dinger. I wonder what she weighted before the spawn.
Have a Happy Thanksgiving buddy.

Nice catch. You just never know. That is one of the draws to fishing. Every cast is a bit like pulling the arm on a slot machine.

It’s one of the few gambles I take where a miss or a loss doesn’t give me the blues…………. Very much😢😁

Yeah Wulffy, it's definitely not as expensive as some of the other losses are. Then if you go back again tomorrow for another try, nobody says you have a "problem".

It's one of the strains of German Browns, that the State stocks in lakes and rivers Jim. The markings and colors were beautiful.
