That is very impressive! Do you think he/she might've CNC'd it on there?
I'm not sure you could CNC all that fine detail. I have been out of the industry for 21 years though.

And you are very talented at woodworking and always wanted a table with a crocodile as part of it…
Step 1
Remove everything which is NOT a crocodile!
Awesome John, the artist has mad skills!
Thanks for sharing buddy.

wow impressive! if I removed everything that wasn't crocodile all I would end up with would be a pile of wood chips
DC that make two of us. I do a fairly decent job carving a turkey or a ham. Does that count 🤔
Apparently, I am not getting one for Xmas as the Wife was not too thrilled about having one in the house😉
I have to say, I'm VERY impressed!
Kinda would defeat the whole exercise if you "removed everything NOT crocodile", now wouldn't it ? Please don't even consider it !
As impressive as the croc carving is (and it's certainly impressive), the real skill displayed here is creating the "table surface" AFTER the carving. To create such a surface so that it appears that the croc "emerges" from 'a flat board' is simply marvelous and ingenious. (I'm hoping folks realize that the slab obviously started out as 6"-10"+(?) thick to begin with).
This is truly sculpting wood at its best.
Removing the "waste" to such uniformity (a single plane) had to have been quite the task.
Kudos to the maker, from a guy who has been manipulating wood for the past 60+ years and professionally for 40+ years and thanks for sharing. This ain't your run-of-the-mill chainsaw carving, for sure !
I can't believe the hours that project would have taken. All I can say is WOW.

yes WOW indeed. I have a hard enough time cutting a log into uniform rounds for fire wood
He even used the grain of the wood to make it look like the croc is moving through water!
