Do the Math

We have had our Apple phones since late 2017 and neither one works very well now. Mine hardly at all. One nice thing, my phone will not ring at all if the caller is not listed in my directory. That allows most of the spammers to get dumped. As a stockbroker, I have made many ‘cold calls’ and know how it feels to get slammed. But that is just part of the job, if one cannot handle rejection, get another job! You may, or may not know this, but there are a certain percentage of people who just cannot say ‘no’ and we were always in search for them~!
The monthly bill just for service was higher than ordering new Apple phones and service from Spectrum. I am surprised that there was that much difference in service. In no way am I promoting anyone to change or do anything. It is up to you. You might make a comparison and see if there is a better deal. In both cases we will be using a new Apple, not the last, greatest one, but for old folks most are too complicated in the first place.
When I retired in 2017, getting away from an android phone and moving to an Apple was a hard choice. If I had not had a young Ph.D. Mechanical Engineer helping me get started up the learning curve, I probably would have taken the monster back and thrown it through the AT&T window! It wasn’t easy, and those of you who have gone thru this know what I am talking about. But when I finally learned how to use my fat fingers and through my thick head, I began to really like the difference since Apple offers so much more. It is just a steep learning curve one must climb.
As always, don’t trust what I say, explore and find out yourself. One example: I can pull up the radar at a Houston T.V. station. With this image on radar, I can move all the way up to North Texas, find a clump of Cottonwood trees where our home used to be! That way I can visit my early life and homestead any time I wish. It is comforting, even at this age. Just Sayin…RJS

Henry G: You are certainly right about that. There will be some pain. But an Apple Smart Phone will do a lot of marvelous things that no analog phone will do.

If all you ever want is a phone, an analog phone is the way to go, but a smart phone is ages ahead. Just Sayin...RJS
