Another promising sunrise today. Looks like the squirrels and deer will be busy cleaning up the apples which fell over the weekend. The squirrels ought to be careful as I just had a flyby of an owl, a red-tailed hawk is sitting in the neighbor’s tree and another smaller hawk is hiding in the apple tree. I may get a free Nature Show today 😉

I thought my 30* was cold when I was hookin up the boat this morning. Least I'm not havin to deal with that white stuff. Headin to the river shortly. Gonna be a chilly one this morning.

I always enjoyed watching the critters cleaning up under the trees in a mad rush to load calories. When it could and did get to below -50F during the winter, seeing the scrambled for survival was endlessly facinating.

It was 9 degrees when I got to my deer stand yesterday morning…a little chilly. Luckily the wind was calm while I was out there.

Finally warming back up here, 22 this morning. Still cold, but that extra 12 degrees kept the house warmer. Good luck hunting, I saw but did not get a shot at 3 whitetail bucks. That is a beautiful sunrise, nice setting to wake up too

I bagged a nice little 8 pointer (4pt your count) on Saturday afternoon after the snow stopped. I went out to try to fill a doe tag yesterday, but didn’t take it too seriously due to the cold. My toes had had enough by 9:00, so I took the buck to the butcher and Mama to breakfast.
