Will be going to N. Texas to fish the Texoma reservoir at end of November. How has the fishing been? Suggestions for bait, tackle?

If you want to limit out on stripers, Google the guides around Denison TX. If they are still running, those ole boys will help you limit out.

If you are going with your own boat, the stripers are down near the bottom usually, but could be nearer the surface. Try some Bomber Slaps, any color will likely do the job.

First choice is hiring a guide, they know where they were yesterday! If you are alone, try to follow them at a discreet distance, you know what I mean.

If you are putting in further up the lake try to find them in the main channel. There are big creeks that run into Texoma and those might be hot too, but I haven't been there for a long time. This time of year, they are more than likely quit deep, 20 to 40 ft.

Good Luck, Tight lines, and post us some Pictures! Just Sayin...RJS

I almost forgot about sandbass, or white bass. They are the smaller cousins of the stripers which were introduced into Texoma in the 1960s, or later. You may happen on to schools of these smaller fish. They are easy to catch and good to eat if you do. Or you may want to leave them and keep on looking of schools of stripers.

When I lived up there we were usually limited on sandbass to the number we wanted to clean! It aint Florida but it aint bad! Just Sayin...RJS

Sarl: Texoma is a big lake, so if you are going to fish alone, you do need a map. Just Sayin...RJS

use Stripper Express. Ask for Chris to be your guide. We go twice a year and always limit out.

Listen to Soxtroy; He has been there, done that! You might get lucky fishing by yourself, but these guys are professionals and go out almost every day! They know where the stripers were yesterday! That way you can go home with an icebox full of filets. Just Sayin...RJS

We went last year about this time, and we went with Stripper Express’ Captain Tim. As you said, Captain Tim knew where the stripers were yesterday! It was such a beautiful experience. He put us on a point on the morning of the second day at dawn, and we had a mighty experience with the voracious fight of those big stripers. There is a time to blaze your own trail, and a time to ride someone else’s coattails, and wisdom is to know when.
