Just a little plumbing tip on these windy days.

Have you noticed the water sloshing back and forth in the toilet bowl on these windy days?

Same thing is going on in those sink traps and bathtubs that you don't see and sometimes the water seal will be broken.

Yep, a noticeable smell at times and the answer to where are these nats ( sewer flies ) coming from.

Is there a simple fix like just checking the tightness?

Yea Jer, just run a little water once a day to keep it sealed in those un used sinks and tubs when it is windy.

You are welcome, there are also trap primers that can be installed, but from experience there are mostly used on commercial installations where there is a lot of down time between the use of fixtures.

Smart man Griz. I only thought of this tip because i just used the 2nd floor bathroom that rarely do we see much less use. That bowl water looked like a choppy day on the Patapsco.

Our upstairs one does the same. Brody uses that one. I also make sure my outside vent stays clear πŸ‘

I have never noticed it with wind ( from outside) is that because the wind blows down the vent pipe? may be the wind just blows harder in your part of the country try. what I have noticed is if not used often the water in the pipe will evaporate causing the same problem if you don't pour water down them once in a while but good word of advice thanks
