From what was posted they do respond in your state DC. I think it's a funny statement, but I didn't post it. Your saying unless it's a murder in Washington nobody responds. Well I gotta assume a resident there would have a better idea of what happens but whatever.

Ever heard the good ol saying " call the cops" ? I have been salmon / steelhead fishing and assisted a buddy in reporting the crimes you witnessed. The dummy had all his gear taken and huge tickets that probably led to jailtime. No it's not an Oregon thing. It is some scumbags that haven't been reported.

A couple of years ago On the Nestucca river, there was a guy setting the hook after every cast. The next day I went back to fish the same spot and another guy that was there the day before was there that day too. He videoed him with his phone and called the police. It takes time for them to show up because they are busy doing other things and only have a few officers to cover those calls in a broad area. It helps to have proof and maybe even get the license plate of their car. The police came and took him away.

Exactly. I have seen many examples of when criminals get caught in Oregon. It is false that nobody here cares about it. To see out of state posts about it are not factual either. I was on a salt water charter and recognized a cop from the job I had. The cop kept slightly shaking his head NO tome whenever I looked at him and nodded. Turned out a few weeks later the investigation he was doing was over. Several captains of charter boats were selling fishing licenses but not registering them with the state or turning in the money. Well they had detectives investigating them while I was on one of the boats. Well duh. It was all in the news then I realized why the Oregon State Policeman I recognized just slightly shook his head no to me several times. Loose lips sink ships. Sometimes even I gotta play dumb and not say anything.

Anyone that thinks Oregon Outdoors people, or any Law Enforcement do not care about poaching your dead wrong.

your right but again if you have that kind of quick response you are fortunate up here unless it is a high priority call you would be lucky if anyone shows up that day or at all. but maybe if enough people called WDFW and it occurred often enough maybe a game Warden would show up time to time and possible catch them. but of course the problem isn't people not calling (if they even have cell service) or the slow response time by police since they most of the time are busy with higher priority calls but with those jerks who don't think rules apply to them and could care less which is a problem that has always been and is not area specific

I agree. The author of the post states that the Sheriff in Washington take care of your state. I would tend to believe someone that lives there over someone that lives elsewhere. I haven't seen anyone from other states say that their buddies or relatives in Washington don't care about poaching its only if it's on the other side of a huge river that it supposedly occurs. I think its false but may be its because I have seen dummies arrested for this sort of thing.

it occurs everywhere and all true sportsmen along with law enforcement are dead set against it but reality is it often occurs in places where response time if reported is to far out to catch them in the act. but when caught an example needs to be made of them as a warning to others. to bad there wasn't a public web site where videos of offenders could be posted for all to see and identify

I can tell you that Winchester Bay on the Umpqua, a game warden was on the dock checking for Salmon as well as crab. She checked every boat pulling from the Boat Launch. That was in September of this year.
