Went carping in 62 degrees Colonial Lake this evening during Hurricane Nicole. Wore my Lacrosse knee boots, Grundens bibs and Columbia rain jacket. Didn’t see another fisherman. Threw out a can of ShopRite whole kernel corn, then caught and released 7 bluegills and 2 14” brown bullheads with corn bait on a #4 long shank gold hook and 12 lb test line. Will apply for 3 more NJ Skillful Angler Recognition Awards.

When I was a kid, I used to go fishing with my father, in the Swatara Creek, in Pennsylvania. The bait of choice for the carp was whole kernel yellow corn. They were fun to catch.

Nice catch! Bluegill and other small game fish are always fun to catch. I like using my ultralite rig for that and a Mepps Spinner.
