Who uses this technology when fishing? Some states are considering a ban on it, say it's use is depleting the fish populations in lakes

Don't own a boat so don't have technology that way but is it any different than hunting with a scope and range finder????

I believe so ranger, a scope and rangefinder only help you after you've found game, the sonar actually finds fish

New one coming out ,it ask's what they want to eat
I have a simple sonar unit for depth and it tells me there are fish and at which depths. I keep telling myself this is all I need, but I think it lies! 😂
I have also seen shows of the pros using all the fancy stuff and they get skunked, too!
Now that one might be worth buying

Youtube channel called Intuitive Angling. Some guy named Randy Blaukic or something like that, can't spell it
Fish Finders have been around for years. But do they actually “find the fish” No, they just show you that your above them. The new technology just enhances the imagining and clarity. Maybe the should be called “fish detectors”…🐟on

Don't know dave, I read with the one I mentioned you can actually see the fish, tell which direction they are pointed, and watch your lure moving thru the water
