How does one get fishing reports for Monterey Bay, CA? I see San Francisco bay reports and that's good but a 95+ mile trip for me.

I “Google” searched “monterey,CA fishing reports” and found “ https://jmsportfishing.com/reports/”.

Here’s another charter company in Monterey.

I first fished there in 1973. Fish were big then. Limit of 15 Rockfish might not fit your gunny sack. 25-35 pound long cod weren’t uncommon.

I quit fishing up there many years ago, the limit was reduced to 10 fish at the time and if you got 10 fish, most of the times it barely gave you enough for a good meal. Figured I’d give the fish a chance to grow up. Now I live in Southern California and fish out of Dana Point. Hardly worth going the fish are so small unless you’re an overnight boat going for much deeper water and load up and yellowtail and other big fish. I’m thinking I’m going to limit my fishing to my home in Grand Rapids, Minnesota.
