Great pics my friend. Besides fishing snow skiing is my passion. My father was a Certified U.S ski patrol veteran at Heavenly Valley for many years. Goes to say that we spent a lot of time up there. Have a safe ride home. p.s … do you ever rent out your place. We sold ours years ago and regret it to this day!!!!

What years was that. We lived there from '76 to 2000.

My dad gave up the ski patrol in 1974 and we sold the place in Myers in 1978 I believe.

That's right around the time we moved out there. We arrived from Texas on April 4th '76.

I’m not certain what my parents sold it for but I can only imagine what it would cost to buy a property like that in today’s market. Not something that I can afford today. Believe me I’ve been looking and it’s so far from from my budget. Thinking about Nevada city but still a good hours drive away from the resorts… weather and road conditions permitting!

I'm in "Still above water" 's camp on this one. I basically moved to Oregon to ski, whitewater kayak and fish for trout, salmon and steelhead..... none of which can be done in Kansas City....lol.
Your pics, Saw, are of what I have always considered the most beautiful scenery on the planet.....fresh snow in the mountains ! Becomes a cool CLEAR stream or river in springtime, fills the clear lakes, after letting you slide down the slope through a beautiful forest.
My idea of heaven on earth !

And no stinkin' bass or carp from muddy, murky water to deal with where I fish.... the best upgrade the move 38 years ago provided !
Sorry folks, just one man's opinion.

Agree ! Only a healthy steelhead on the end of your line, giving you a workout to land, is even close to a sunny "powder day" on the slopes, IMHO.
Ain't Mother Nature grand ?

I know I certainly appreciate "her" !

Hope the furnace service guys get here this mornin and get done by noon. If so, we're outta here early.
