70 degrees on Green Bay. Unusual for northern Wisconsin. Caught this little guy while trolling for musky. Had one good contact but nothing to show for it.

Nice beautiful weather we're finally getting rain here in California.!!!
He has some length, just needs to put on some girth. I hope he has a taste for Cormorants!
I have never, and don't expect I will ever complain about a pike. Just a quick wipe down with newspaper to remove the slime, a five filet cleaning followed by great fried fish. Nice fish even though not your target. excuse my ignorance about muskies, but do many people keep muskies to eat, or are they just a catch and release (or mount) fish.
Itβs mostly catch and release. In many lakes there is a 50β minimum. However there is a less informed group that think musky in their lake is detrimental to their fishery and kill them when caught.
I forgot to mention that if a true trophy is caught, fiberglass replicas have really been perfected. A length and girth with a couple of pictures does the trick.

Thanks again. I have seen some great jobs. Most shops will not even mount a real skin any more. I am not sure they even know how. The truth be told, even with the original skin, it is all about the paint job, as even real skins turn grey during the mounting process. We have a 72 lb king salmon my wife caught in the 70's pre artificial mount. I have to pull it down and touch it up every few years.

Wow, and I thought the 57lb'r my buddy Matt has hanging in his lumberyard store was huge !
After 38 years of chasing them since I moved here in '84, I'm still working on getting a 30+ lb'r 'nookie......and a 15+lb steelhead.....and a boat that holds more than 3 people.....and.......

Om looks like a nice setup you're riding in. Decent fish also ππ£
Thanks. Four brothers have five boats. All set up for different uses. This one is oldest brother who lives on the bay and only goes out in clement conditions.
