I caught one today at the beliar causeway. I used a pompano jig with fish bites ez fleas.

I've never seen one bleed like that, mackerel yes, but not a pomp

I bleed everything, no matter the species. There isn't much on my taste scale above a Pompano other than flounder and White perch.

Yeah, bleeding is good.....have you eaten Permit? Taste just like pompano. When you say white perch are you talking about crappie?

Y'all call them White bass in the south, on The Chesapeake they're white perch

O.K., where I grew up most everyone called crappie white perch, some still do. I tried white bass once, not very tasty

Here in The Chesapeake bay they're the best eating fish. I hear that they're not good from a lot of people and I think that's due to their food source. A friend of mine that fishes Lake Erie said they were good until they introduced the gobies to eat the Zebra mussels.
