I saw a quote yrs ago " the prettiest spot on the water is the place where the float used to be" I dont do much float fishing, but seeing the float go down good is always thrilling to me

Hey BankStalker got to add to your prettiest spot on the water. Just got talked into top water fishing at pre dawn and for 45 minutes before the sun takes over, it has been a blast to put it lightly. Seeing that hit and splash with the enthusiasm of the catch is right up there with the disappearing float.

I imagine! I have never fished a top water. See a friend fish one, but he never caught anything. I know people do. Im gonna have to try it.

Good luck BankStalker. It is light enough at 5:45 am to be on the water and get set up for tossing a top water bait. If you are not familiar with the term " walking the dog " google it, informative and interesting. For me what has been working is the slow walk. My neighbor does 5:30 with me and he also goes out at sunset with good result as well. By sun down I have had it and resting up for the morning ventures. Could be he is 25 years younger then me is where he is getting the energy.

That looked more like a bobber than a top water lure. Am I wrong? I think that is a great photo. I would have it framed and put it on my desk. You have to love that pooch!

It is a bobber.

He doesn't move much until the fish gets pulled out then you have a hard time getting the fish back in the water.

He is not only patient but lightning fast.
