Wookie23: Hello! I was born and raised in Cooke County. After college and military service, I lived in Gainesville and was a partner and co-owner of North Texas Marine in its beginning years. His son, Joe is in charge now.

I was born and raised at Bulcher, out in the very North West corner of the county, and went to H.S. in Saint Jo. After my dad died, my mother moved to Gainesville and lived there until her death.

Wookie, I got this TP&WL report today.

Lake Texoma
EXCELLENT. Water stained; 65 degrees; 2.41 feet below. Birds everywhere leading the way to feeding striped bass. Limits of striped bass using slabs, or swimbaits when the fish are shallower. Report by John Blasingame, Adventure Texoma Outdoors. Striped bass are excellent on five inch paddle tail swimbaits in 5-10 feet of water along flats and long points in the main lake. Switching to live bait or slabs under working gulls later in the morning and throughout the afternoon. Crappie are good in 15-18 feet of water over brush piles using electronics and minnows. The bigger fish have been stuck to the bottom making them tougher to see, but they will bite if you get down to them. Blue and channel catfish are still excellent in 40-50 feet of water for the eater size fish on cut shad and prepared baits. Trophy blues are moving up on flats in 10-20 feet of water and will start moving towards the mouths of the rivers as the rain continues. Largemouth and smallmouth bass are slow on topwaters early along the bluffs and swim baits in 8-15 feet of water along clay and stumpy banks. Report by Jacob Orr Lake Texoma Guaranteed Guide Service.
Hope it helps.
