Hello
I haven’t any luck with lures musky fishing so I am thinking I will try live bait on a slip bobber rig I have access to trout, shiners, and eel. Is there a better rig to run ? And what bait do you suggest out of the three?

In the fall we use 10-15 inch suckers on a quick strike rig. This allows a more favorable release.

Be sure to check what's legal. Bullheads are another good option.

I would vote the biggest shiners of the three. Quick strike because you "quick set the hook" before the double trebles get past their mouth. Most fish die with hooks in their stomach. Cutting the line does not help at all.
