Welcome Joe. Btw, I think Huntsville is a great town. I like the historic district. The arena downtown is very nice for concerts. I can't help you with fishing info there but you can private message Ivey. He catches a boat load of crappie on Tim Ford's Lake and knows the Huntsville area. There are also other FS members near you that may come around. Check back. If you aren't familiar with doing a private message, I can PM Ivey and have him message you.

Done. He's been battling some health issues but is really good about responding and helping people.

Joe, Guntersville lake is your best bet for Crappie. They are moving into the creek arms following the bait fish. You'll find them suspended under docks or around blow down trees in deeper water. If you're boat fishing follow the old creek channels back into the creeks watching your depth finder. Drop a live minnow on a drop shot type presentation and stay close to the old creek channel drop offs. Sometimes you'll run in to big schools ganged up on a couple old stumps or brush piles. North and South Saudy Creeks are good this time of year as is Cebold and Town Creeks. If you get around a Marina, an empty boat slot can produce lots of fish.

Joe, I live in the Maysville area and primarily bass fish, but I have a brother who does a lot of crappie fishing.... He told me yesterday they are just starting to catch a few... What they have picked up have been around boat docks with brush under them.... He also said he went to Cataco creek about a week ago and didn't do much... Cataco should be getting good just anytime... If you try Cataco, be careful, there's all kinds of logs going in from the river...

It's been very slow on Tim's so far this year too. the water temp. isn't quite as low as it normally is this time of year at 62* yesterday. Maybe things will pick up soon.

Douglas is picking up with bluegill but the crappie has been very slow. Water temps in the 60s here too. We have had a few decent smallmouth lately.
