Looking for ideas about all aspects of fishing...presently fishing pier, banks and a little surf fishing. Have had very little success with catching fish. My list of caught fish are catfish... fresh and saltwater, tilapia, bluegill, jack creavelle, Spanish mackerel, and mangrove snapper.
Would like to catch a bass...came close.

Df....Welcome... You're in the right place, but have way too much on your plate to get started. Try some specific questions about one aspect at a time, or you risk overwhelming us. I recommend just following along and asking questions relating to a specific post by someone, until we get a handle on each other. There is a large social element to this site, and after a bit, I'm sure you will learn to like that aspect of the Stage
Good to have ya aboard. nutz
Wait! You live in Largo, FL, right?! Any you're having a hard time catching fish?! You're using hooks every time, right? Just messin' with you :) Walk down to the beach, see who's catching, and start a conversation. Most fishermen and women are happy to share. BTW, nothing wrong with Spanish Mackerel, great dinner fare, don't stick your finger in his mouth.

...and snapper. yum.
And grilled yellow tail is fantastic.
YouTube videos by Alabama Saltwater and Alabama Beach Bum are pretty good. They even teach about the second most important fishing topic : Cooking the fish!
Although if you are cooking octopus, you want my stepson recipe. Will quickly become one of your favorites.
