Hello. I am new on here. Have purchased a boat which I will receive in 3 long months. I have been a Texas offshore fisherman most of my life. Ow I live in Winder and look forward to learning how to fish on some of the big lakes close by.. Lanier, oconee, hartwell. Bishop. Would love to hear from any one for suggestions on starting out on crappie. Thanks. Bill

Hi Bill. Talk to Troy at his bait store, "Happy Hooker", just outside of Winder. He can fill you in on fishing in Winder. He has been in business for many years.

Oconee is chock full of crappie. They'll be stacked under docks where the baitfish hide in the shade. Look around grass and blowdowns at 10-12 feet, too.
